• EN 388:2016

  Gloves and arm protectors with the EN 388 rating are tested for protection against mechanical risks like abrasion, cuts, tears, punctures, and sometimes impact. This helps you choose protective gear with the right level of durability and safety for tasks that involve these hazards.

This helps you choose products that offer a specific level of defense against various thermal hazards, ensuring your hands stay safe.

  • Burning Behaviour Level 4

    Offers the highest protection against catching fire when briefly touching a naked flame. The material resists burning and will extinguish itself almost immediately, giving you crucial time to react and stay safe from burns.

  • Heat Contact Level 1

    This product provides short-term protection against contact with hot objects up to 100°C (212°F) for at least 15 seconds. It is ideal for brief handling of warm items in non-professional settings like home kitchens.

  • Heat Convection Level 3

    Provides good protection by delaying heat transfer from hot air or flames for at least 10 seconds. This makes it suitable for tasks where hands are exposed to open flames or hot environments.

  • Metal Splash Resistance Level 0

    This product does not provide protection against splashes of molten metal. It was tested according to the standard but did not meet the minimum requirements for heat resistance from metal splash, offering no protection for this specific risk.

  • Molten Metal Resistance Level X

    This product was not tested for resistance against molten metal splashes under the EN 407 standard. Therefore, it is not intended for use in activities like welding or foundry work where this specific hazard is present.

  • Radiant Heat Level 1

    Provides basic protection by delaying heat transfer from a radiant source for at least 7 seconds. This makes it suitable for brief exposure to radiant heat, such as when working near ovens or furnaces from a distance.
