• EN 388:2016

  Gloves and arm protectors with the EN 388 rating are tested for protection against mechanical risks like abrasion, cuts, tears, punctures, and sometimes impact. This helps you choose protective gear with the right level of durability and safety for tasks that involve these hazards.

  • Abrasion Resistance Level 2

    Withstands moderate rubbing and friction, offering good protection for tasks involving handling rough materials.

  • Cut Resistance, ISO 13997 Level C

    Offers medium protection against cut risks from handling lightweight metals and plastics.

  • Puncture Resistance Level 3

    Withstands strong pressure from sharp objects like nails or thick splinters.

  • Tear Resistance Level 4

    Offers the highest level of protection against tearing, withstanding a strong force before ripping.

• EN 407:2004

  Gloves and other hand protection with the EN 407 rating are tested for protection against heat and/or fire, including flame, contact heat, and molten metal splashes. This helps you choose products that offer a specific level of defense against various thermal hazards, ensuring your hands stay safe.

  Test results

  • Burning Behaviour Level 4

    Provides the highest level of protection against catching fire when exposed to a naked flame. After the flame is removed, the material will stop burning within 2 seconds and stop glowing within 5 seconds.

  • Heat Contact Level X

    This product was not tested for resistance to direct contact with hot surfaces. It therefore does not offer any guaranteed protection from heat when picking up or holding hot items.

  • Heat Convection Level X

    This product was not tested for protection against convective heat, which is the transfer of heat through moving air, such as from a flame. Therefore, it has no claimed performance level for this specific thermal risk.

  • Metal Splash Resistance Level X

    This product has not been tested for resistance against splashes of molten metal under the EN 407 standard. It does not offer rated protection for tasks where this is a risk, such as welding.

  • Molten Metal Resistance Level X

    This product has not been tested for resistance against splashes of molten metal. It provides no claimed protection and should not be used for welding, foundry work, or other tasks with molten metal risks.

  • Radiant Heat Level X

    This product was not tested for protection against radiant heat, which is intense heat that can be felt from a distance. It does not claim to offer protection for tasks involving prolonged exposure to radiant heat sources.

• EN 420:2003

  Gloves and other hand protection with the EN 420 rating are tested for general safety, comfort, and harmlessness of materials. This ensures the product fits well, allows for good hand movement, and won't cause irritation or allergic reactions during use.
