• EN 388:2016

  Gloves and arm protectors with the EN 388 rating are tested for protection against mechanical risks like abrasion, cuts, tears, punctures, and sometimes impact. This helps you choose protective gear with the right level of durability and safety for tasks that involve these hazards.

  • Abrasion Resistance Level 1

    Provides basic resistance against scraping and surface wear for low-risk tasks.

  • Cut Resistance, Coup Test Level 5

    Offers the highest protection against cuts from a rotating circular blade under this specific test method.

  • Cut Resistance, ISO 13997 Level D

    Offers strong protection against cuts from utility knives, glass edges, and sheet metal.

  • Tear Resistance Level 4

    Offers the highest level of protection against tearing, withstanding a strong force before ripping.

• EN 407:2004

  Gloves and other hand protection with the EN 407 rating are tested for protection against heat and/or fire, including flame, contact heat, and molten metal splashes. This helps you choose products that offer a specific level of defense against various thermal hazards, ensuring your hands stay safe.

  Test results

  • Burning Behaviour Level 2

    This product offers protection against brief contact with flames. It will stop burning in 10 seconds or less after the flame is removed, providing time to react in case of accidental fire exposure.

  • Heat Contact Level 1

    Provides protection when briefly touching hot objects. Certified for contact with surfaces up to 100°C for at least 15 seconds, offering short-term protection against burns from items like hot cookware or machinery parts.

  • Heat Convection Level X

    This product was not tested for protection against convective heat, which is the transfer of heat through moving air, such as from a flame. Therefore, it has no claimed performance level for this specific thermal risk.

  • Metal Splash Resistance Level X

    This product has not been tested for resistance against splashes of molten metal under the EN 407 standard. It does not offer rated protection for tasks where this is a risk, such as welding.

  • Molten Metal Resistance Level 2

    Protects against small splashes of molten metal, ideal for tasks like grinding. This material is tested to withstand at least 15 drops of molten metal, helping to prevent burns and ensuring the metal does not stick.

  • Radiant Heat Level 2

    This product provides moderate protection against radiant heat, delaying heat transfer for at least 20 seconds. It is suitable for tasks where hands are exposed to significant heat from sources like open flames or hot industrial processes.

• EN ISO 21420:2020

  Protective gloves, arm protectors, mittens, and pot holders with the EN ISO 21420 rating are tested for general requirements like design, comfort, sizing, and chemical innocuousness (ensuring no harmful substances are present). This means the product is safe and comfortable to wear, fits properly, and won't cause skin irritation or other harm during use.

• PPE Category 3

  PPE stands for "personal protective equipment." PPE Category 3 refers to equipment that is complex and provide the highest level of protection such as powered respirators, SCBA, and full body suits. In Europe, PPE Category 3 must meet certain safety standards set by the European Union, which means that it must be designed and manufactured to protect the user without causing harm. Companies that make or sell PPE must prove that it meets these standards. They also must have a quality management system in place, have to be audited regularly by a notified body and have to have a technical documentation.

• Ecovadis

  Ecovadis rating and certification system is used in Europe to evaluate and recognize companies' sustainability performance. It is focused on the supply chain and evaluates companies on environmental, social and ethical criteria, such as environmental protection, labor practices, and fair business practices. The requirements for getting an Ecovadis certification will depend on the specific category of business and industry, but typically include providing information on the company's sustainability practices, policies and performance, and undergoing an assessment by an independent auditor.

The REACH regulation aims to ensure that the chemicals used in Europe are safe for human health and the environment. The regulation applies to all chemical substances, whether they are used in industrial processes or in everyday products such as cleaning products, paints, and cosmetics.
