• EN 388:2016

  Gloves and arm protectors with the EN 388 rating are tested for protection against mechanical risks like abrasion, cuts, tears, punctures, and sometimes impact. This helps you choose protective gear with the right level of durability and safety for tasks that involve these hazards.

    Withstands moderate rubbing and friction, offering good protection for tasks involving handling rough materials.

    Withstands moderate force from sharp objects like heavy-duty splinters or wires.

• EN 407:2004

  Gloves and other hand protection with the EN 407 rating are tested for protection against heat and/or fire, including flame, contact heat, and molten metal splashes. This helps you choose products that offer a specific level of defense against various thermal hazards, ensuring your hands stay safe.

  Test results

  • Burning Behaviour Level 4

    Provides the highest level of protection against catching fire when exposed to a naked flame. After the flame is removed, the material will stop burning within 2 seconds and stop glowing within 5 seconds.

  • Heat Contact Level 1

    Provides protection when briefly touching hot objects. Certified for contact with surfaces up to 100°C for at least 15 seconds, offering short-term protection against burns from items like hot cookware or machinery parts.

  • Heat Convection Level 2

    Provides moderate protection by delaying heat transfer from an open flame. Ideal for tasks where hands are near, but not touching, a flame, giving you more time to move away safely from the heat source.

  • Metal Splash Resistance Level 0

    This product was tested for resistance to molten metal splash but did not pass, offering no protection. It is not suitable for tasks like welding or foundry work where exposure to molten metal is a risk.

  • Molten Metal Resistance Level 1

    Provides protection against small splashes of molten metal, such as those that occur during welding or foundry work. Tested to resist at least 10 drops of molten metal before heat transfers through the material.

  • Radiant Heat Level 2

    This product provides moderate protection against radiant heat, delaying heat transfer for at least 20 seconds. It is suitable for tasks where hands are exposed to significant heat from sources like open flames or hot industrial processes.

• EN ISO 21420:2020

  Protective gloves, arm protectors, mittens, and pot holders with the EN ISO 21420 rating are tested for general requirements like design, comfort, sizing, and chemical innocuousness (ensuring no harmful substances are present). This means the product is safe and comfortable to wear, fits properly, and won't cause skin irritation or other harm during use.

• PPE Category 3

  PPE stands for "personal protective equipment." PPE Category 3 refers to equipment that is complex and provide the highest level of protection such as powered respirators, SCBA, and full body suits. In Europe, PPE Category 3 must meet certain safety standards set by the European Union, which means that it must be designed and manufactured to protect the user without causing harm.
